As the ole’ phrase goes…”You get what you pay for.” If you’re new to the game, and haven’t played much…I would say…yes…go for it. BUT as you get better so should your equipment. When I first started golfing I would have sworn that all clubs are the same….but I was dead wrong. After I played with some cheap new Spaldings (actually I kept the 5 wood out of that set…I’ll never get rid of it!) I upgraded to a Callaway driver….and noticed a tremendous difference. Later on I upgraded my irons, wedges, and putters. My bag today contains a mix of different brands. When you decide to upgrade you can always check eBay, for new and used clubs. If you want a brand new club…go to your local pro shop. Many times golfers today want the name brand equipment THE YEAR it comes out…Hence no one really wants clubs that are a year old but still brand new. So many times they will mark down the price to get the inventory out of their stores. For instance I bought a brand new 2005 Cleveland 460cc Driver……….in 2006….hence he took off 120 bucks. So I walked out of the pro shop with a great brand new driver….that was a year old….and paid much less for it. Hope this helps, and Good Luck with your Game!
