Who do you think is the face of you NFL franchise?
I’m talking historically.
Some might say that Landry is the person thought of when you say Cowboys.
Some might say Payton when you say Bears.
Who do you say represents your franchise.
My Panthers are young. So we only have one player in our hall of honor– Sam Mills. Sam is the most respected guy by everyone in the organization. When a new player comes to the organization. Jerry Richardson (the owner) gets them in his golf cart and gives them a tour of Bank of America stadium. He drives them by the statue of Sam Mills. He then stops and gives them a speech about character, hard work and pride. He tells them that Sam embodied all of those characteristics and that if they’re going to be successful with the team, then they will need to strive to be like Sam.
I like that he is the face of our franchise.

I’m torn between Archie Manning and Rickey Jackson….
I’ll say Archie Manning.
He was the QB when we sucked BAD. The fans wore paper bags over their heads and we we’re given the nickname the “Aints”. The only hope we had was Archie Manning. Archie Manning played 12 years with the worse team in the NFL. He got sacked probably 5 or 6 times a game. But he always got up and the fans cheered him on because of his toughness. He should go down as one of the greatest.
Jackson was the anchor of the Dome Patrol LB Core in the 80′s (along with Sam Mills) and took us to our first playoff game in 1987 (I was there!) He helped the saints a lot.
Sam Mills was the only true veteran leader of the Panthers in 1996 and I respect him deeply.
